Candy Top in Night of the Comet - Large

This fitted cap sleeve top is where it all began when I designed it for Moon Tide Dyers many years ago.  This classic original fit never goes out of style! 

Dyed with a reverse process using potato dextrin resist, a wonderful and fun material to work with!  Potato dextrin powder is mixed with water and heated in a double boiler until the mixture is smooth.  It is then applied hot to the fabric.  As it dries it cracks.  Larger or smaller crackles can be achieved depending on how thickly the paste is applied.
